In 1987, Aloha Airlines acquired Princeville Airways, which was established in 1980, renaming it Aloha Island Air, which became known as Island Air in 1992. In 2003, Island Air was sold and became an independent airline, sold again in 2013 to Larry Ellison the CEO of Oracle Corporation.
